Day 1 of this years February In-service will be a series of workshops offered by staff to aid in the skills and development of Windows 10 and Office 365 to improve learning and teaching.

​

There are a total of 10 sessions available and you are asked to select 3 you would like to attend. There will be 2 sessions per period, from period 1 to period 5 (sign ups below).

​

Each session will last approximately 25 minutes with the second 25 minutes used as time to practice what you have learned with the leader and your colleagues. The sessions are differentiated, so please read the blurb for each session (below).

​

We hope the day will be very productive for you all.

​

NOTES:

Once all submissions are in, we will create calendar events that you will be invited to. The afternoon on day 1 will be handed to you for faculty time.

The basics of windows 10 and your classroom setup

This session will focus on how to best utilise what windows 10 has to offer from a teaching and learning perspective. It will also offer helpful tips and hints of how to set up your classroom and dynadock to make the most of your laptop and any ICT you have.

How the MFL team use Office 365 (teams focussed)

This session will look at how the MFL team utilise Microsoft teams (and class notebooks) effectively across the senior phase. Liegha will discuss set up, organisation, feedback and general ins and outs of utilising teams to raise attainment. There will be a chance to set up or amend teams in this session with Liegha's support.

The basics - Microsoft teams (conversations and assignments)

This session will cover the basics of what a Microsoft team is, how to set it up, and how to use the basics of conversations and assignments. The session is aimed at staff who have yet to venture into the world of 'Microsoft teams' but are interested in its potential.

Making digital papers​

This session will demonstrate the 'ins and outs' of setting up digital papers. This may be handy for you in your learning and teaching, as well as for exam preparation.

Increasing productivity - How I get the most out of digital technology

This session will look at how to utilise O365 to increase productivity and cut down on paperwork. It will also look at how to get the most out of Glow and give you examples of OneNote and Microsoft Outlook in particular. Lets save the trees together!

Improving feedback using digital technology

This session will look at how feedback can be improved using 0365. We will look at examples or written, peer, self and verbal feedback and links to success criteria. 

Pupil perspectives will also be shared and HOTS/homework tasks considered.

Using Microsoft forms as a learning tool

This session will focus on how Microsoft forms can be used in and out of the classroom as a formative and summative assessment tool, to inform learning. 

The session will also look at how to utilise/collaborate across staff members and how to help pupils also.

Creating, sharing, collating of info etc will be discussed.

Back to basics - a recap of the new school solution​

This session will cover the following: Where to save files, how to access the CIF, Where links open (and don't) and why, What you can do @ home and @school, How to make the new solution work from a teaching/faculty perspective, SharePoint etc.​

Using rubrics for assessment in Microsoft teams

This session will look at how to create effective rubrics for assignments (to use in Microsoft teams and in general L&T). We will consider how it can help self and peer assessment and cut down on overall marking (short term pain, long term gain).​

This session will look at the following: Levels of collaboration (Teacher–Teacher, Groups of Teachers, Pupil-Teacher, Pupil-pupil, Group of pupils, Whole class collaborative document), benefits of & how to use collaborative documents, & how to use Teams to support group work in the classroom.
